Chapter Twenty-Eight

Mrs. Bloom @PsychicMom1

The meaning of mothers in dreams: she reflects how lucky you feel about coincidences and your future. Lucky @BloomOlivia #KeepDreaming

Mom is wearing a high-necked ruffled blouse with a red bow tie and a little straw hat with a flower in it and is digging through a large carpetbag.

“Now I know my prophecy is in here somewhere,” she mutters, pulling out an umbrella with a parrot head for a handle and putting it aside. “Just a minute, I’ll get it for you—”

“No,” I moan. “No…” Something is warm and soft on my forehead… Breath? It is foggy and dark in this place, but I like it. The warmth moves to my eyes, my cheeks. I start to realize it is lips gently caressing me. There are fingers on my jaw, my collarbone…and I begin to wake up, remember where I am…here, in my twin bed. Naked. And Berkeley is kissing me. I know it’s him, recognize his clean scent, the tugging in my core, the buzzing at the base of my spine. Finding my mouth, he coaxes my lips open.

I peek at him from under heavy eyelids, wanting to stay in this twilight. “Good morning,” I murmur.

“Morning,” he says, lips never leaving mine.

I press my hips into him, enjoying the pressure building deep and heavy inside. He moves lower, tongue teasing my breasts, and I arch against his hard chest, my tightness opening for him. He slides inside where it is warm and slippery, plunging deep, dissecting me. I sink to a level of consciousness where I am only aware of our bodies and our tongues, licking, sucking. My desire swells, undulating through my body until all I can do is cling to him and let the shivers run their course.

When he finishes, he momentarily collapses onto me and catches his breath, his lips brushing my neck until he pushes his arms straight so he hovers above me.

I force my eyes all the way open. “Where did you come from?” I ask, trying to piece together how I ended up naked with Berkeley in my bed. Justin and Boots were here the last I remember.

“The bar.” He smiles.

“Don’t remind me,” I say, my fingers moving to my temples. “My head hurts…too many martinis…wait. What time is it?” Panicking, I bolt up, almost smacking my head into his. “What time do I need to be on set?”

“Don’t worry,” he says. “You have forty-five minutes.” He points at the clock on the nightstand. “I made sure you have time.”

“You’re the best kind of alarm clock,” I reply, lying back against my pillow, letting out a sigh of relief. “But how did you get here? Did Boots let you in?”

“She did.” He smiles. “We had to get rid of your boyfriend, though, first. He wouldn’t leave you.”

“He’s not my boyfriend.”

“That’s what you think,” he says. There is no sting to his words; he’s teasing me. “Somebody should tell him that. He wouldn’t budge. Blair finally convinced him that Dig needed some rewrites delivered ASAP and got him out of here.
